Post-COP30 Convening
On the 27th-28th January 2026, the Post-COP30 Hosted by Southern Africa Trust brought together civil society organizations, researchers, advocates, and community representatives from across Southern Africa (Malawi, Lesotho, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa) to reflect on global climate developments and strengthen a coordinated regional climate justice agenda. Over two days in Johannesburg at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Sandton, participants engaged in robust discussions that moved from structural diagnosis (Day One) to actionable strategy development (Day Two). The convening examined whether current energy transition and climate governance frameworks are meaningfully addressing inequality, fiscal constraints, extractive opacity, and systemic exclusion in the region.
