Lusaka, Zambia – (29-08-2024) – Zambia is launching a new strategy to harness its critical mineral resources, which are crucial for the global energy transition.

Paul Kabuswe, Minister of Mines and Mineral Development, announced that high-resolution geophysical mapping will be employed to precisely assess the country’s mineral deposits, providing vital data for strategic planning.

The strategy aims to balance geopolitical interests with local impacts, ensuring that the benefits of mineral exploitation reach underserved communities. This approach is designed to strengthen Zambia’s negotiating position in international discussions on mineral resources.
