
Vacancy: Personal Assistant to the Executive Director

The Southern Africa Resource Watch (SARW) is seeking a highly organised and proactive Personal Assistant (PA) to support the Executive Director. The ideal candidate will provide high-level administrative, logistical, and strategic assistance, ensuring the smooth functioning of the Executive Director’s office and effective internal and external communication.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the Executive Director’s calendar, travel, and correspondence

Coordinate internal and external meetings, including board and donor meetings

Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action points

Oversee logistical planning for events and international travel

Maintain filing systems and liaise with internal departments for updates and reports

Provide strategic support through research and briefing preparation
Minimum Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in administration, Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences, or related field

3–5 years of experience supporting executive leadership, preferably in the NGO or development sector

Excellent communication, organisational, and multitasking skills
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, and Teams

High discretion, integrity, and cultural sensitivity

Fluency in English (French and Portuguese are an advantage)
